So earlier this year back in June. I wrote a E-mail to Department of highways and County commission to upgrade stoplight located in Lewisburg. I got an email back today after their review and it looks like it may be getting an upgrade. Just another small victory!
Dear Mr. #######:
Thank you for your email to the West Virginia Department of Transportation regarding your concerns with the traffic signal at the intersection of US 219 and Grand Avenue, in Greenbrier County.
After a preliminary review of the intersection, the Division of Highways (DOH) agrees with your request to implement side road left turn phases. We are unaware of any plans to extend sidewalks to this intersection; therefore, the DOH is not adding pedestrian signals at this time. Unfortunately, we have not yet received current traffic count data, which is necessary to properly analyze existing traffic patterns. Once this data is received, we will promptly implement the necessary changes. Pending any unforeseen circumstances, this work should be completed within six to twelve months.
Again, thank you for writing and sharing your concerns.
